Rental policies
Rental hours
Marina hours: Daily 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM.
- Full day — pickup at 8:00 AM, return by 6:30 PM.
- Half day · morning — pickup 8:00 AM, return by 1:00 PM.
- Half day · afternoon — pickup 1:30 PM, return by 6:30 PM.
Half-day bookings require you to choose morning or afternoon at checkout. Each slot is booked separately — two half-day rentals can share the same calendar day if one is morning and one is afternoon.
Jet skis — must be booked at least 36 hours before your rental start time (hourly, half-day, or full-day).
Payment
- Reservation deposit (20%) — required online at booking to hold your spot.
- Remaining balance (80%) — paid at the dock when you pick up. Card or cash accepted.
- We email a reminder about your dock balance about 48 hours before your rental starts.
If you cancel
Your online reservation deposit (20% of the rental total) follows these rules:
- 3+ days before rental — 90% refund of your deposit.
- Within 3 days of rental — no refund on your deposit (deposit is non-refundable).
The remaining balance is paid at pickup and is not charged online unless you have already paid it at the dock.
If Knox Lake Boats cancels your booking
We may cancel a booking at any time (weather, equipment issue, safety, etc.). Your refund depends on how close we are to your rental start:
- Within 24 hours of rental start — full refund of all amounts paid.
- Between 24 and 72 hours before rental — 80% refund of amounts paid. We retain 20% to cover scheduling and prep costs.
By equipment type
- Small rentals: If we cancel between 24 and 72 hours before your rental, you receive 80% of amounts paid back.
- Jet skis: If we cancel between 24 and 72 hours before your rental, you receive 80% of amounts paid back (we retain 20%).
- Pontoons: If we cancel between 24 and 72 hours before your rental, you receive 80% of amounts paid back (we retain 20%).

Use the Fort Loudoun Marina parking lot — follow signs to the rental dock.
When to arrive
Arrive 15 minutes before your rental for check-in. On Vols football Saturdays, allow extra time for marina traffic. Jet ski and wake boat renters receive a safety briefing at pickup.
What to bring
- Valid government-issued photo ID
- Tennessee boater education card (if born after Jan 1, 1989 and driving motorized boats)
- Booking confirmation (email or confirmation code)
- Sunscreen, towels, and water
- Payment for remaining balance (card or cash)
- Cooler and ice for sandbar days

Requirements
Valid ID required for all power rentals. Operators must meet age and safety requirements for the equipment type. Life jackets are included with every rental.
